Inspired by Iceland, the official destination brand for Iceland in marketing has launched a marketing campaign called A to Ö of Iceland.
A song titled the ‘Hardest Karoake Song in the World’, which featured local comedian Steindi Junior is an integral part of the campaign.
The A to Ö
The song pokes fun at the difficult pronunciation of the Icelandic language the country iand Inspired by Iceland is encouraging people from around the world to attempt to sing along. The theme and lyrics of the tune is The A to Ö of Iceland – Ö is the last letter in the Icelandic alphabet instead of Z as in most European languages.
The A-Ö of Iceland campaign is Icelandic equivalent of an A-Z guide, which uses the 32 letters of the Icelandic alphabet, ending in ‘Ö’. With this initiative, Inspired by Iceland hopes to underline the diversity of Iceland and encourage visitors to go further and learn more. It also wants to educate tourists about being responsible travellers to the country.
Visitors to the Inspired by Iceland website can also take part in the ‘regional quiz’ to win an adventure trip to Iceland and learn more about the country’s seven special regions.
